Krishna Chavda

I am an observer and recorder of people, places, and things.  My illustrations are snapshots capturing everything from wildlife in Tanzania, to street vendors in India, to the architecture in Spain.  With loose, but deliberate and detailed line drawing and watercolors, I depict what I see around me during my adventures across the globe.  While many of these drawings turn into complete reportage illustrations, they are also the basis of my surface designs.  The designs integrate well into quilting and home decor markets because of their whimsical and fresh aesthetic.

I received a BA degree in Fine Arts at Drew University, and an MFA in illustration at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where I concentrated in surface design.  In my free time I enjoy bookmaking, playing Ultimate Frisbee and squash, and discovering new music.
