Is REPEAT really over? It’s hard to believe, but this week marked the end of our little design competition. Big congratulations for Michele on her winning collection. And while Michele won, it was a close race and Jessica and Krissy both had lovely final collections as well. I’ll echo Madeleine’s sentiments from yesterday a bit, by reiterating how great ALL of the designers were to work with the last few months.
While REPEAT would not have been possible without the ten amazing designers, it also would not have happened without our guest judges. Awesome people from every corner of the quilt industry came together to help us give the contestants a peek inside the world of fabric and quilting. Judging the fabric designs was no walk in the park! Our scoring system was pretty intense, and each of the guest judges spent a good chunk of time working through the different categories and providing the contestants with detailed written feedback. The knowledge and accomplishment represented amongst the pool of guest judges is amazing, and their willingness to share and spread their know-how is incredibly kind and generous. Mega-thanks and big hugs to all the REPEAT guest judges:
Carolyn Friedlander from Carolyn Friedlander
Julie Owens from The Corkboard
Kathy Mack of Pink Chalk Fabrics
Linda Warren of Linda Warren Designs
Mary Ourecky of the International Quilt Study Center & Museum
Michael James of the University of Nebraska
Robbi Joy Eklow the Goddess of the Last Minute
Sandra Sider, President of Studio Art Quilt Associates
Vanessa Wilson the Crafty Gemini
Timna Tarr of Q Tailored Quilts
Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr of Modern Quilt Studio
From here, Madeleine and I are excited to work with Michele for the next few months to get ready for Quilt Market. Houston, here we come!
