In the Studio with Taylour

Taylour's Drafting Table

Welcome to my studio! Well, studio apartment anyway. I work out of my apartment, which is a pretty tiny, but perfect for one person. I’m lucky enough to live in a building right next to a large park, as well as being blessed with south facing windows that get great natural light all day.

Taylour's Drafint TableRegardless of working digitally or traditionally, almost everything starts at my drafting table. It tilts and makes everything way easier than hunching over a drawing board while working on my couch (which I totally never did, I swear).

Taylour's Computer Station

Eventually, almost everything I do makes it to my computer station. I built my computer to play a whole lot of video games be capable of handling an array of authoring software. My personal favorites are Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator. I have an amazing monitor that I can draw directly on, which is really helpful.

I hope you enjoyed reading! I know I enjoyed the opportunity to clean my apartment for these pictures share a little information about the way I work.

  1. Ha! Great designs and a sense of humor, awesome. Can’t wait to see what you come up with in the challenges! Good luck :)

  2. I second Rachel’s comment- ha! Your space looks great- drafting table is genius (want one too) and the screen you can draw on sounds INCREDIBLE. I had no idea such a thing existed! Wow. That is cool. You are lucky- I have tried to use a wacom tablet and my brain just melts down immediately- do you use a special stylus or your finger or what? Very awesome. Thanks for the great and funny tour! Looking forward to your design for the first challenge!!!

  3. Great post, Taylour! Love your writing style and sense of humor. Don’t you just love your little Ikea cart? I got one in the hospital blue. Intrigued by that hanging behind your computer and the upholstery of chairs… did you do them?

  4. haha… love how you don’t play videogames at all! hahaha
    back to being serious…
your studio/flat looks so cozy and perfectly made to suit your needs. Love your monitor… how cool to be able to write directly on it (what kind of monitor is it?)
oh! and the light… the great light you get is just magic! I love real natural light, but I don’t get that much sadly :(
