We were lucky enough to meet Ms. Carolyn Friedlander at the Modern Quilt Guild meet up at Fall 2011 Market. Carolyn is a pattern designer based out of Lake Wales, Florida. Her background includes a degree in architecture, which you can see bits and pieces of not only in her patterns, but her awesome diagrams!
Over the last few months, Carolyn has let us test some of her new patterns that she just debuted at Quilt Market in Kansas City. Carolyn’s patterns use the paper piecing technique to achieve little multi-sided shapes. Check out Aerial, Palmetto, and Backbone. Take it from us, Carolyn’s patterns are unique, easy to follow, and result in sweet quilts in a variety of sizes from table runners to wall hangings to snuggly bed quilts.
Take some time to peruse Carolyn’s blog. She’s always got something going on, and we are thrilled to have her as a guest judge for REPEAT this month.

Thanks for letting me participate! I’m super excited to see what the designers come up with!
