GIVEAWAY – TPB Tote + Aurifil Thread

Sewing season is in full swing here in Nebraska!  We are working on countless projects – a quilt with Michele’s Tiny Dwellings fabric, skirts with Emelia’s Industrial Revolution project, and tons of little accessories with the 8″ Spoonflower swatches!  All of these projects are at that really messy, crazy point where a picture would just be scary…

Tell us about what you are working on…Quilts, a new dress for summer, clothes for your kids?  Leave a comment by midnight on Cinco de Mayo and you could win an Aurifil Thread Pack and a TPB Tote!

Aurifil generously donated lots of thread packs for us to share with you!  Thread is an integral part of successful sewing, and Aurifil is awesome!

Happy Sewing!

I usually only use my sewing machine and do quilts but I am with my ill mother and so I brought along some hand english paper pieceing hexegons that I am attempting to work on. Who knows what it will be for sure. ;)

My sewing time is limited until final exams are over (last one tomorrow) and my sewing machine is in Illinois patiently waiting for me while I am in Nebraska. However, I have just been commissioned to sew a queen size quilt for a wedding gift so that will be the very first project I tackle when I return to Illinois. The second project will be quilting a dorm quilt for a lucky young man starting college in the fall. I am finishing and he is just getting started.
Then I can choose a project to do for me out of a long list of possible projects. I would like to develop a pattern for a discovery quilt for seniors with dementia issues using highly textured fabrics and embellishments. A variety of thread types and colors would come in handy!

  7. I’m working on a Patchwork Prism QAL, but I am hoping to work on some shirts soon, I’d hate to have nothing to wear for the summer!

  8. I’m currently working on several quilts :) looking forward to my next finish! I love Aurifil!!!

  9. I am finishing up one print class and am signed up for another. I want to finish my large matrix quilt that I started in Nancy Crow’s workshop last year.

  10. Am knee deep in costumes for the school play, Father of the Bride, 1962 rendition! Tonight its a wedding veil, tomorrow hemming and redesigning a dress to fit the era.

I’m working on my first quilt: a baby boy circus-themed quilt for a friend’s 1st baby due in August. I just collected a bunch of awesome fabrics and found a pattern…now just to find the courage to start cutting and sewing.

I am starting 2 graduation quilts, one a t-shirt quilt, 1 is a picture quilt. 2 t-shirt quilts just left my house, I only quilted them . They were picked up last night.Today I had a call to fit a wedding dress, one call to fit a bridesmaid dress and a wedding dress, 2 calls for baby minkee blankets, and a request for a Mother’s Day Minkee lap blanket. Should keep me off the street this weekend.

  13. I am finishing a baby present…’s a stuffed cat made from socks & some
quilt cotton scraps. It is a take off from the book SOCK & GLOVE….love
those Japanese craft books ! My cat is very girly & is holding a string of
small fabric fish. Got to add I also love Aurifil….perfect for applique !

  14. Finishing up a quilt, have about 80% of the binding stitched. Just a little more to go and ta da! On to the next quilt that needs finishing.

  15. I’m working on an English Paper Pieced Hexi table topper, with a tropical motif. Great project to get in the mood for summertime!
